“Het is enorm leerzaam bij NOORDWOORD tot nu toe. Al direct sinds het begin van de stage merk ik dat ik enorm groei, en dat is nog niet opgehouden! Naast dat ik leer over wat er komt kijken bij het organiseren van een festival en leer hoe een organisatie in het algemeen te werk gaat, stimuleert het erg om aan mezelf als maker te werken. Rond de begintijd van stage begon ik als dichter pas echt actief te worden. Er zijn al veel dingen op zijn plek gevallen.

Het was helemaal niet makkelijk om aan een stage te komen, tot ik deze vond. Van het grootste deel van mijn verstuurde sollicitaties kreeg ik geen gehoor, ook niet met een herinneringsmail. Twee andere sollicitaties leidde uiteindelijk tot gesprek, maar dan bleek op beide plekken dat ‘helpen met programma’ iets anders betekende dan ik zocht.
Deze verwarring kwam vooral omdat ik open solliciteerde .
Gelukkig sloot wat NOORDWOORD aanbood heel goed aan met wat ik zocht, en kon ik hier terecht.
Daarom was ik ook blij met stageplatform Stage Cultuur Inclusief: die maakte het proces makkelijker. Er was meer ruimte om er iets persoonlijkers van te maken. Veel van de standaardformulieren die je moet invullen om te solliciteren hebben alleen plaats voor praktische info. Hier kon ik nog dingen aanvullen waardoor ik duidelijker kon maken waarom deze stage een goe d voor mij zou zijn, en een aanwinst zou zijn voor de stageplek. ”

“It was convenient to use the StageCultuurInclusief platform to find suitable internships, as the various filters helped screening through the different types and positions available, and it was much more productive to use the platform than just using a search engine like Google. I also found it very helpful that there was persistent contact with a member of the team at StageCultuurInclusief who was available for any inquiries I had about the internship procedure, from the written application to what happens after being accepted into the internship. I really appreciated this, especially as a newcomer to the workspace in the Netherlands.

I am currently one month into my internship at ZID Theater, and it has been rather fulfilling while not too hectic for the summer period. I work three days a week in hybrid form, sometimes in office in Amsterdam, sometimes from my laptop at home. I was worried about the hybrid form at first, but it was easier than I expected t navigate around that with the online sharing options and email communication with the members of the organization that I work closely with. My favourite event so far is attending a Peer-to-Peer meeting hosted by DutchCulture in Amsterdam. It was my first time attending a full day of roundtable discussions and keynote speaker presentations involving policymakers and leaders within the cultural industry right now. I found it incredibly eye-opening and I am very thankful to have this opportunity to attend as part of ZID Theater. My daily tasks revolve around understanding and planning fund proposals, for example for Erasmus+. As the theater work closely with migrants and aim to be soically aware in their initiatives, I found it very mentally fulfilling to be part of the community coming up with socio-political solutions using the medium of art and being able to utilize my cross-disciplinary knowledge from my studies in actual work. I look forward to these next weeks of my remaining time here, and I am happy to have participated and contributed to the work of ZID theater.”

– en zo heb kunnen ontdekken en vooral kunnen bevestigen dat ik inderdaad verder wil binnen de culturele industrie. Zodoende heb ik via deze stage meer zelfvertrouwen gekregen over mijn vaardigheden in dit gebied.

Ik heb me in deze periode ontzettend thuis gevoeld, waar de gezellige praatjes met mijn collega’s en stagebegeleider aan hebben bijgedragen. Ik werd gelijk opgenomen in het ervaren team, en heb hierdoor veel kunnen leren en mijzelf kunnen ontwikkelen.

Bij Circus is iedereen heel open en is niets te gek. Dit vond ik erg inspirerend en hoop ik mee te nemen in de toekomst.

Omdat het zo’n kleine organisatie is, is er ook altijd begeleiding en is het altijd mogelijk om vragen te stellen. Tot nu toe is het dus een erg fijne ervaring!

At The One Minutes, I’m given a lot of responsibility, which is fantastic for my personal and professional growth. For example, I am curating two series, one of which was already screened at an international film festival. This was an incredible experience where I got the opportunity to host a QA with one of our filmmakers.

I am very happy I found this position through Stage Cultuur Inclusief and that they have helped me find my place in the cultural sector, where I can express myself and pursue my interests. Thanks to the funding from Stage Cultuur Inclusief, I’m also being compensated fairly for my hard work!

…because I got to know so many things in the art world and in the art industry, being the back office assistant of the Dutch artist, Badria Hammelink. And I think one of my most exciting things or endeavours or tasks I work on was when we did a private viewing. It entailed tasks ranging from all the organisation, communication, from even buying some parts that we used for that viewing up to actually building up that private viewing and I think it was so nice to get in touch with art not only like in the institutional sphere or from the organisational perspective but actually like seeing the artworks and organising, actually curating an exhibition.

Het was voor mij precies de plek waar ik moest zijn om het juiste professionele netwerk op te bouwen en na mijn afstuderen een springplank te krijgen om in het diepe te springen. Met heel veel plezier keer ik ook het komende seizoen terug bij SPRING, dit keer niet als stagiair, maar als medewerker.
